A case of 75-year-old survivor of unrepaired tetralogy of Fallot and quadricuspid aortic valve.
In tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), the most common form of cyanotic congenital heart disease, only a few patients reach adulthood without surgical correction. We present the case of a man with TOF who survived until the age of 75 years without surgical intervention and had a very unusual combination of TOF and quadricuspid aortic valve (QAV). QAV, complicated by aortic regurgitation, is an uncommon ...

Introduction: In patients who underwent surgery to repair Tetralogy of Fallot, right ventricular dilation from pulmonary regurgitation may be result in right ventricular failure, arrhythmias and cardiac arrest. Hence, pulmonary valve replacement may be necessary to reduce right ventricular volume overload. The aim of present study was to assess the effects of pulmonary valve replacement on rig...
متن کاملOutcomes of Pulmonary Valve Replacement for Correction Pulmonary Insufficiency after Primary Repair of Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF)
Background Total correction of Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) anomaly in early childhood has been practiced in many centers with good results, but in some of patients after few years sever Pulmonary valve insufficiency occurred. Materials and Methods At a cross- sectional study from January 2015 to January 2016, 10 patients who had history of primary repair of TOF with free pulmonary insufficiency (...
متن کاملValve-sparing replacement of the aortic root after repair of tetralogy of Fallot.
Progressive aortic root dilatation is a common feature after surgical repair of tetralogy of Fallot. This report describes a successful valve-sparing replacement of the aortic root in a patient with significant dilated aortic root and aortic regurgitation after repair of tetralogy of Fallot.
متن کاملAortic Root and Ascending Aortic Aneurysm in an Adult with a Repaired Tetralogy of Fallot
Surgical repair of the tetralogy of Fallot is one of the most successful operations in the treatment of congenital heart diseases. We report the case of a 65-year-old man who had an aortic valve replacement at the time of complete repair of the tetralogy of Fallot at the age of forty-three. He subsequently had progressive aortic root and ascending aorta dilation to 9 cm. The aortic root and asc...
